Facebook recently announced new features recently (February 5, 2019) and this is to delete your message, you can do it using Facebook Messenger or even in Desktop Facebook users.
Are you having some mistake on sending your message to a specific person or you regret to send your message and wanted to remove it so that other users cannot read it anymore or delete it right away before they read it? well, you can do it now.
There are two options on deleting messages, first is Remove for Everyone and 2nd is Remove for You.
1. Remove for Everyone - This removes your recent message to all member of group chat or personal chat.
2. Remove for You - This will only remove from your end, but others can still see the messages.
This feature is publicly released, but before we know it CEO Zuckerberg already using this features but now they let this features used publicly, and in our own opinion this is very useful in terms of having the mistake of your chat and wanted to remove it permanently.
Here's how:
- Open the Facebook Messenger app on your phone or desktop.
- Open a conversation with messages you'd like to delete.
- Press and hold on a message, or select the three dots menu icon on the desktop.
- Select "remove" next to the message.
- Select "remove for everyone" -- that makes sure that the messages disappear from the inboxes of the people you sent them to, not just from your own. You have 10 minutes to delete a newer message.
The only thing we observe about it is that when your message is older than 1 hour you cannot see the features, I think that you can only use the Remove for Everyone features if your message is less than 5 minutes or less, so we think this features is still under testing, but how about you? what is your opinion about this?
