President Rodrigo Duterte criticized the former President Benigno Aquino III as well as the senatorial candidate Mar Roxas about what happened to the 44 PNP members Special Action Force (SAP) who lose on the Mamasapano Encounter last January 25, 2015. It was an operation to capture and kill the wanted Malaysian terrorist and bomb-maker Zulkifli Abdhir. The original mission is to serve only a warrant of arrest for high-ranking terrorist that led to the deaths of 44 SAF member, 18 MILF, and BIFF, and 5 civilians, as well as the death of Zulkifli Abdhir, was confirmed by the FBI together with the PNP.
Until now, justice of what truly happened that massacre has not yet clear. Families of those 44 SAF members as well as some citizen still seeking justice for what happened.
“Hindi ko talaga maintindihan at gusto ko talagang tanungin, bakit pumasok ang SAF alas otso tapos ang away ang firefight was almost one day hanggang hapon.. ang kampo may regiment doon just a few kilometers. bakit walang tulong na pumunta doon?” President Duterte said in his speech in Tuguegarao.
“Dyan talaga ako nagtataka.. hanggang ngayon,” PRRD added.
President Duterte also mentions of what happened in the command conference in Zamboanga City dated January 25, 2015, led by the former President Aquino. President Duterte said that there is one army official that wanted to help the SAF member during the clash but they can’t execute because the commander-in-chief has not given them orders.
After the clash, President Aquino called up a meeting of all generals to discuss what happened. President Duterte said that the army official walks out in the meeting after hearing President Aquino asking a question to one of the generals on what they’re gonna do.
“For the first time ilalabas ko, nakaupo na kami doon.. andyan yung mga generals.. tinanong niya yung general na medyo na assign dito banda sa away.. tapos ang tanong niya.. ‘kung ikaw general ang nandoon anong gawin mo?’ p**** i** tumindig ako,” President Duterte said.
He also added.. “It’s a very ignorant .. magtanong ka ng ganon pagkatapos ng araw wala na ang mga sundalo,”.
Also, President Duterte criticized Mar Roxa’s, on his speech, who is the Interior secretary during the incident. He said.
“Tapos ibalik niyo ito [Roxas] sa Senate? DILG? he wasted 44 lives for nothing they could not even explain why it was the police went there? who’s totally ignorant of the topography and physical arrangement of the bukid..”.
President Duterte challenged Mar Roxas that if he can explain what truly happened during the mamasapano clash, he [President Duterte] encourage the people to vote for Mar Roxas as a senatorial candidate.
“Kung may masagot kayo na maganda.. pwes ang i-number one niyo [sa balota] si Roxas,” President Duterte said.
Because of what happened on the Mamasapano clash, both former President Benigno Aquino III and Mar Roxas affect their image as a politician in the Philippines since critics are still blaming the two politicians for what happened to the 44 SAF members.
