"The video was real. It was private, and not meant for public consumption. I do not know how it became public," he wrote on his blog "Writing on Air."
"There are already too many lies and liars in this world. I do not wish to be a part of that cabal. I have chosen to be truthful because I know that painful as the truth can be, it will eventually set me free," he added.
After his confession from the said viral video, Jim Paredes got much support from his friend on social media. One of those is the singer Leah Navarro where she posted on her twitter account on Tuesday by warning those people who shared the video of Paredes on the social media will have a possible charge against them for invading the privacy of the 67 years old OPM singer artist.
“Laughing at my friend Jim Paredes and his predicament doesn’t make you, video thieves and sharers, any better than him,” Navarro said.
Leah Navarro wished that those people who shared the video will receive a proper charge.
“You should be charged. You violated his privacy. Karma boomerangs big time,” she added.
After the various twitter post of Leah Navarro, netizen responded to it saying that filing a suit against the people who spread and released the viral video of Paredes might give another headache to the 67 years old artist.
“Although she is correct that whoever posted the video online should be charged, this may simply open a can of worms. Like who was the video chatting with when this was filmed? It was probably that person who recorded and uploaded the video.” Facebook page Oliver’s rant stated.
Whatever outcome it may be, reproducing a private video without the owner’s consent is serves as illegal according to the law.
